A two part workshop for active military, veterans and spouses who are exploring business ownership AND for current business owners who are interested in pursuing government contracting opportunities. Boots To Business is a two-step entrepreneurship training program offered by the Small Business Administration as a training track within the Dept. of Defense's Transition Assistance Program. The curriculum provides assistance to those interested in owning a business or self-employment opportunities. Guest speaker, Tommie Causey, Veterans Affairs Officer, SBA, will present an overview of the program.
SBA Business Opportunities Specialist, Cherie Guilford, will talk about various government contracting programs, how to get started as a contractor, how to find government customers and how minority-owned, woman-owned, veteran-owned business certifications can work for you.
