The Kentucky Small Business Development Center has been assisting the Commonwealth’s small business community for more than 25 years. With 15 service centers statewide and an experienced and knowledgeable staff, our network provides unparalleled consulting and training services that help existing business owners and potential entrepreneurs succeed.
KSBDC is co-sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration and is administered by the University of Kentucky in partnership with regional universities, community and private colleges, and the private sector.

Kentucky Small Business Development Center strengthens Kentucky’s economy through the delivery of high quality, in-depth and hands-on business consulting to existing and start-up businesses, creating both wealth and jobs.
Our Beliefs
We believe our clients have needs and are willing to learn. We know they are entrepreneurial in spirit. We believe our clients are valuable as individuals to us and to the Kentucky economy.
We believe small business is the life-blood of the Kentucky economy and that generating a profit is a worthy goal. We believe business owners must mitigate the risk of business ownership as well as accept the responsibilities associated with the opportunity of owning a business.
We believe our roles are to coach and educate our clients and that we must be open, positive, and knowledgeable in this endeavor. We provide assistance, but do not do our clients’ work. We are also a link to other resources and partners with other business assistance service providers.
